Brian Eason

Brian Eason Eason graduated from North Carolina State with a Bachelor’s of Science in Agronomy. Immediately following the completion of his education, Mr. Eason managed a corporate farming operation. The years following lead him more specifically into hauling cotton products and the process of cotton from the field to the gin, and to the warehouses. Mr. Eason’s hands-on experience in hauling cottonseed established many relationships with cotton growers, ginners and manufacturers. Not only did this experience give him the opportunity to work in all levels of the cotton industry but it was this experience that developed his passion for the people working these positions. Mr. Eason recognized the favorable market potential that the ginning industry presented and has since further pursued his cotton ginning education. Mr. Eason, now an owner and operator of a gin, continues to haul cotton, and work in the field interacting with the farmers who gin with Enfield; staying up to date on current conditions and trends and retaining his value for being face-to-face and present  with his “boots on the ground,” approach.

Tatum Faithful Eason

Mrs. Eason’s passions begin and end with nature. She loves every living thing and her life outside of work surrounds rescuing, growing and nurturing strong plants and animals, alike. Her backyard is a refuge for wayward animals from turkeys and peacocks to calves and kittens and her love of nature extends to beloved old buildings and salvaging glass and wood and the stories attached to these items.

Tatum Faithful Eason graduated from North Carolina State University with two associate degrees: Agribusiness Management, and Livestock and Poultry Science. Then served as Office Manager at Salkehatchie Cotton Gin. She started her own business selling topsoil, mulch, sand and stone for resident and commercial. Mrs. Eason’s years of experience in the farming industry have equipped her with technical knowledge about farming and machinery.

Mr and Mrs Eason each attended cotton ginning school for three years and were certified in 2014.

ABOUT US

Nice to meet you!

It all started with trucking cotton to and from Enfield Cotton Gin Inc.. It was one of the locations I always looked forward to going to. The impressive cotton acreage in Halifax is undeniable, and the property always captivated me. The gin faces east, and the front of the gin emblazons rolling hills of white cotton while the sun sets behind the gin every night. I never dreamed we would be able to own it one day. After all, we are just cotton picking truck drivers!

Then, in 2019 we were given the opportunity to purchase it.

From being truck drivers hauling the cotton, to growing cotton, and now certified cotton ginners - we have undergone most positions in the cotton industry.  It has been our life’s work to get here, to a place where we can put what we've learned in our experiences toward creating a smoother operation for our customers.

I am Tatum Faithful Eason, owner and operator of Enfield Cotton Ginnery. Our team is here to help! We want to share our resources with our customers to maximize their profits. We are bringing a new outlook on things here at Enfield Cotton Ginnery.

90 Days. 90, 24 hour days in the Gin is the typical season for a career Ginner. During cotton season the cotton gin will operate around the clock to accommodate truckers who may have hauled cotton until the wee hours of the morning. The season typically starts in September and ends around Christmas time.

The start of the season looks like trucks coming up and down the gin drive, all day and night. There is one product coming in at any given time, and four products going out. The raw cotton is arriving to be weighed and ginned. After the cotton goes through the cleaning process the finished product, the bales, leave our property along with the cotton seed, the gin trash burrs, and the motes.

The complex machinery that makes up a gin is a compilation of several intimidating, very high powered machines. The job of some of these machines require massive saw systems, and some use very intense levels of heat. Each of these machines achieve their role and pass the product on to the next step, while gin techs closely monitor the process and assist in the resolve of any obstructions. This job is fast paced and warrants immediate reaction time.

The Gin is the impressive engine that drives the cotton industry. One of our favorite parts of this impressive process is the hum of the gin. You will have to come hear it for yourself!

Enfield Cotton Ginnery is located at exit 160 off I-95, just 3 miles. Tours will be available this summer. Please contact us if you'd like to find out first!

IN MEMORY OF WALTER BRIAN EASON

Brian's love of the earth and all its creatures was, and is, our driving force.

Brian was born to share his passion for the ecosystem and planting seeds in life that will sustain one another and those we love. It was my rare privilege to absorb Brian’s wisdom, witness his credo, and see the conviction he had for knowledge as a resource, then sharing those resources. We have passed this love to our daughter and embedded it into our business purposes. We will always carry him with us and see him in the nature and the labor he deeply believed in.

When you see a budding plant, think of him. When you help out a friend, think of him. When you plant a seed, think of him.  We were on a mission together, and we will carry him with us as we carry out every last one of those plans.
